Congratulations to our Feva sailors who took the top 3 places in the Feva Eastern Championships held in the RIYC on April 18th and 19th.
Only 2 points separated the top 3 boats, after a closely fought 6 races in Dublin Bay. Fresh from their respective successes the previous weekend in the Optimist and Laser 4.7 championships in Cork, Tom and Henry Higgins just managed to hold off Toby Hudson Fowler and Greg Arrowsmith to win the event. Triona Hinkson and Kathy Kelly won the first two races of the event, finishing just 2 points off the lead in third place.
A fleet of 16 boats sailed in the event in testing conditions on Saturday with moderate winds and a big sea. Sunday was a bit calmer and not quite as lumpy, but was still challenging for some of the newer Feva sailors, and a great start to the season. For all of our Feva sailors, this was an opportunity to put all their winter training in to practice. So far, we have 4 boats planning on travelling to the Feva Worlds in Germany in July.
