Attached is the schedule of Feva events for this season. The next event will be in Galway on July 8th/9th, as part of Galway Sailing Clubs Dinghy West, which looks like being a great event.
We are very excited about our Nationals this year. They will be hosted by Greystones Sailing Club, with their fantastic new clubhouse and facilities. This year, the Nationals will be held from Monday, July 18th – Wednesday, July 20th. This is a bit of a departure holding the event during the week, but it is hoped that this might encourage more sailors to take part as it is right in the middle of the junior sailing season. We will be keen that Feva sailors of all abilities take part, and will have race and day prizes throughout the fleet. At the end of that week (July 25th/26th) we will have our Inland event in Lough Ree Yacht Club – a great camping venue for all the family. This event will be with the other RS fleets. And if anyone is interested in competing at an International level, the Feva Worlds this year are being held in Santander, Spain from July 25th – 29th.
The Feva class is in the process of appointing a coach/class development officer, who will be available to support the class for the season. The idea is that this coach will run clinics in clubs around the country (any club that is interested in running a Feva clinic please let me know, and we will schedule it in). They will also be at events to support our Feva sailors, and hopefully, will develop a relationship with the sailors and encourage them to attend events and feel like they are part of the class nationally.
If you have any queries/suggestions please feel free to contact me. And please also feel free to pass this information on to anyone else you feel may have an interest in the Feva class over the coming season.
Regards,
Elaine (Malcolm)
Feva Class Captain
