Sail Training in West Cork – Summer Adventure!
Berths still available on Adventure Sailing voyages aboard Spirit of Oysterhaven.
This is a great opportunity for 16 – 18 year olds to get to know the ropes and sail on board our beautiful classic schooner. Spirit is just back from a transatlantic voyage and is ready to kick off a summer of voyages along the coast of West Cork. Starting in Glandore we plan to cruise the south coast visiting some of West Cork’s harbours and islands.

Crew members can expect to be fully involved in the sailing of the ship, from hoisting sails, to grinding winches to steering a course. Weather permitting the voyage will take in a rounding of the Fastnet and a night sail. As well as sailing the boat crew members will work together to produce meals, wash-up and keep the boat ship shape – useful skills to bring home!
This is an ideal course both for aspiring cruising sailors as well as for prospective dinghy instructors. During the voyage crew members will put into practice all the essential elements of sailing theory, from passage planning, to studying the weather, predicting tides and navigating to the desired destination. Cost: €500.00 Monday – Friday inclusive of meals.
Departs: Glandore Monday morning 10am
Returns: Glandore Friday afternoon
