A number of Dun Laoghaire boats have come to grief on this particular rock. The buoy marking it has been installed at DBSC’s suggestion.
Unfortunately it’s seasonal only. Boats going through the Muglins Sound should be on the watch the Leac Bui at any time.

‘LEAC BUIDHE’ BUOY
Mariners are advised that a Port Lateral Mark has been deployed marking ‘Leac Buidhe’ Rock in the following position 53°16.650’N 006°05.100’W. The buoy has the following light characteristic Fl(4)R.6s.
The buoy will be seasonally deployed from April to October.
