This summer the RSGYC is hosting a number of youth team racing clinics, aimed at oppie, laser, feva and 29er sailors alike.
The clinics will be hosted by Senior Instructor Toby Hudson-Fowler, who won the Elmo cup in 2018 and has twice been to the Wilson Trophy – one of the world’s most prestigious team racing events.
Our first clinic is next week – from Tue 29th of June -> Thur 1st of July. (3 days)

The clinics will cater for both established team racers and those who are new to team racing. The end goal is that everyone will compete in this year’s Elmo Cup, taking place in September. The Elmo cup is Ireland’s premier youth team racing competition, and brings together sailors from all walks of Irish youth sailing. We will use the club’s Fireflies, which are the boat of choice for top team racers worldwide
The training also provides a good taster for those looking to do team racing in college, which is an amazing experience.
If you’re in secondary school and feel like you’re losing touch with sailing, or if you feel like it’s too late to start sailing – this is the perfect way to get involved and enjoy the sport
