2024 Summer schedule.
Team George Sea Squirts and Tigers – update
We are looking forward to getting our summer Sea Squirts & Tigers program going again in June. Our plan is for the Tigers to be in their boats, getting a feel for the water and how a boat feels and honing their action and reaction skills.
For our youngest sailors, Sea Squirts, there is no need to have their own boat – the use of a club boat is included in the price of the course. When they reach 9, Sea Tigers, and have a suitable level of proficiency they can then begin to learn to transition to the various Irish Sailing modules and start completing their sailing passport. At this stage (Tigers) a boat is a requirement and reliance on hiring a club boat should not be a given, preference for rental of club boats will be given to Sea Squirts. A boat, whether your own, rented or a club boat is a necessity – swapping in and out of boats is, sadly, a thing of the past!
Summer week long courses run from 1000 – 1300 or from 1330 – 1630.
Please find links to all our Junior Summer courses on the website, under Junior Sailing here:
Sea Squirts
Our youngest groups, starting from 6 years old. No experience is required to join this group. This group sail in the Club Mirrors with our instructors. The aim of this group is to build confidence in and around the water.
Sea Tigers
Are our more experienced group and go up to 10 years old. These sailors will use their own Optimists or a rented club Optimist. Often sailors will share a boat with another Sea Tiger. The aim of this group is to learn the basics of sailing in an informal way.
* Please note if your child/children completed the Tigers course last year, they can be booked onto our Junior Summer Sailing courses under the ‘Start Sailing’ module (level).

Sailors must be fully dressed in appropriate and most importantly warm sailing clothing. Parents are not required to stay but we ask for the parents to come back to help their children out of their wetsuits.
Boat parking is not included in the price. If you plan on keeping a boat at the Club a Dinghy Parking application should be completed. This can be requested from the Sailing Office.
