In 1900, about 1 in 100 women died as a result o pregnancy. this was no exception to Royalty either an although they could afford care, often this care was dangerous my modern standards.
Professor Andrew Curtain will be discussing how these obstetric dangers affected lines of succession and the politics of the day.
