This event is  an evening filled with excitement and fun for all of our Junior & Youth Sailors\, providing them the opportunity to get dressed up\, and enjoy dinner with their fellow sailors followed by the prize- giving and after party. \n  \nThe Prize giving dinner is followed by the after party and dancing in the Junior Room. \n  \nCost is €20 for dinner & after party\, After party includes pizza and a soft drink. \n  \nThe Dining Room can accommodate about 120 sailors so please take a moment to reserve your child’s place early to avoid disappointment. This supper will be an informal and fun gathering of boat owners\, friends\, family and Boathouse staff to mark the laying up of the boats after the Lift Out on Saturday. \n  \nThis will be an opportunity to meet fellow Club members\, boat owners and crews as all reflect on what was a great sailing season. Tales will told\, fun will be had. \n  \nFamilies and friends are invited\, Juniors too. Dress is casual as will be the atmosphere. DESCRIPTION:  \nCalling all present and former IDRA 14 sailors.  The IDRA 14 class is celebrating its 70th birthday. Designed by George O’Brien Kennedy\, the 14’ dinghy was to become the cornerstone of the Irish Dinghy Racing Association\, which became todays ISA.  134 IDRAs were built in total\, and approx 50 are still sailing. DESCRIPTION:The harbour are celebrating the Bicentenary of the laying of the first stone of the harbour on 31 May 2017\n(Time to be decided) but location will be at the George IV monument overlooking the Carlisle Pier and the general harbour (first stone part of the monument) \nAs this is a Wednesday there probably will not be much activity and there will be further events during the year (calendar of events soon to be published) \nHowever if it is the afternoon we thought there may be some Junior activity in the harbour and if so it might be good if they could do some kind of a parade of sail on the day \nThis is just a preliminary notice and I can be in touch again when the time is set to see if anything can be organised \n(Of course this is not confined to Junior sailors!) \n

DESCRIPTION:Friday Fun Day\n\nWe are delighted to announce Funday Fridays\, the first of which will take place on 9th June from 6 p.m.\nWe have listened to your feedback and taken onboard that many Club members would like the opportunity to showcase their Club to their family and friends or work colleagues. While Saturdays and Thursdays are great opportunities for this your feedback was that with the racing taking place on those days for some it may not be the ideal time to bring guests to the Club and out sailing. Often on race days\, people are rushed and the individual attention for guests can be overlooked in the hurry to get afloat. \nThe idea is to build Friday evenings into the family and friends day at the RSGYC. We want to provide Club activities in a fun and relaxed environment\, where yourself and your fellow members can come down and enjoy summer’s evening at your Club.
