A unique opportunity exclusive to the Royal St George to visit these magnificent private gardens. \nHunting Brook Gardens\, Blessington. Visit the gardens of Jimi Blake the author of “A Beautiful Obsession\, Jimi Blake’s world of plants at Hunting Brook Gardens” \nAs we walk the garden it’s impossible not to gasp at his exuberant\, highly idiosyncratic style and marvel at his acute eye for interesting plants. Foliage plants play a key role\, their finely cut leaves\, extraordinary shapes and rich textures changing the way we think about trees and shrubs. In another bold move\, cacti and succulents are summer planted to provide interesting pairings with hardy perennials while jewel-box geums\, dahlias and salvias are carefully chosen for their long flowering and perfect hues. \nLunch at Hunting Brook Gardens. \nCost is €40 to include lunch\, coach transport and garden admissions. SUMMARY:Visit to Glasnevin Cemetary & National Botanical Gardens of Ireland
DESCRIPTION:An interesting opportunity to join us in Glasnevin Cemetery for refreshments in the Milestone Gallery ‘s private room with wonderful views.  The guided tour (about 90minutes) includes visiting  historical graves  of Parnell and many famous people who built Ireland today;   a visit to the museum;  and a 200 step ascent to  the O’Connell tower (optional).  Enjoy lunch either in the Cemetery Restaurant or the Botanics Restaurant or in one of the many famous pubs nearby.  At 2.30pm there will be a guided tour of the National Botanic Gardens.  There are nearly 50 acres and over 17\,000 different plant species.  The Rose Garden and the Herbeaceous borders should be at their best at this time of year. This year the provinces will comprise teams of 2 squibs\, a Hansa and a 2.4m sailed by athletes from Sailability and WeSail.  Some may have buddies. This is the major national event for Sailability with two fleets.  We aim to make it a memorable weekend for both the 30 plus competitors and for the club. Come on down during the weekend to see some of the action!  \nWe would also be grateful to any member who would be prepared to volunteer to do one of the many tasks be it shoreside\, crewing a rib or helping behind the scenes. DESCRIPTION:End of Season Race- quick… enter now!\n \nJoin together to celebrate the end of another wonderful sailing season at this year’s Annual End of Season Pursuit Race. \nThis is truly one of the Club’s most enjoyable events as it is run solely for the Members of the Royal St. George Yacht Club and is a fantastic opportunity for all of the Club’s Sailing Classes to come together to enjoy some competitive rivalry! \nEntry is free and racing will begin from 1800 onwards followed by a Prize Giving and the option of a BBQ or supper in the Dining Room. There will be many special prizes to be won on the day including awards for Day Boats\, Wooden Boats\, and this year’s new awards for ‘Best Dressed Boat Overall’ and ‘Best Greeting to the Committee Boat’. DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n \n  \n********* This Trip is Fully Booked ********* \nJoin your fellow club members on Wednesday the 16th of October as we take a trip to The Dáil. \nMeeting at the George at 10:00 am\, as a group\, you will take the DART from Dun Laoghaire at 10:45 am and arrive at Pearse station at 11:06 am where you will walk to The Dáil. \nThe group meeting point will be at Porters Lodge where you can collect your name tag. \n At 11:30 am your tour guide will bring you to the house for leaders questions followed by a tour of the building. \nA three-course lunch with tea & coffee will be available to purchase at €20.95 on the day. \nBooking is essential as you will not be allowed to enter The Dáil without a name tag. \nPlease contact Danielle at reception on 01-280-1811 to secure your place. \nPayment for lunch will be taken on the day.
