DESCRIPTION:The Matt McGovern and Sean Donnelly led 29er Clinics will be held on the following dates. \n\nFebruary 2nd & 3rd\nFebruary 16th & 17th\nMarch 2nd & 3rd\nApril 27th & 28th\n\nTimes 10am to 5:00pm each day.\nThe cost for each of the weekend clinics are: €205 p/ team (Helm & crew). \nThe clinics are open to sailors from all clubs currently sailing as part of a 29’er crew (a team).\nSailors must be sailing regularly as part of a 29’er team\, have their own boat or be crewing on a boat.\nThe clinic is based on a ratio of 4 boats to 1 coach (Intermediate Sailors) and 3:1 for New to the 29’er Class sailors to ensure a high level of coaching and support. \nPlease bring a packed lunch and plenty of water. A notebook and pen are also required\, as well as plenty of warm clothes as it can be very cold at this time of year.\nIf available places fill up\, we will look to find an additional coach so that more places can be made available. \nQuestions? DESCRIPTION:Family Open Day – Saturday 1st June (bank holiday weekend) from 1pm to 4pm \nThe purpose of the Open Day is to encourage new member families and prospective member families to sample some of what the club has to offer for families. \nJunior Section \nThe Royal St George Yacht Club has the largest junior section of the four waterfront Dun Laoghaire clubs. The summer programme spans from 4th June to 23rd August 2019 over six modules. The courses are designed for children from 5 years of age up to 16/17 years. There are courses to introduce children to sailing up to racing and advanced boat handling.\nThe course fees include lunch and run from 9.30 to 16.30 each day. (for children 5- 7 the course is half days 9.30 to 13.00)\nNon-members can participate in a single sailing course provided a member of the club sponsors the child. Please contact the sailing office for further details.\nFor more details see the club website under the “Junior Section”\nFor the open day we will show children some of the boats our juniors sail and invite them onto the water with experienced sailors in a club boat. \nRIB Rides \nThe club has a fleet of RIB boats which it uses and also makes available to members for rent. We will bring families out in our RIBS to take a spin out of the harbour to watch the Dublin Bay Sailing Club fleet racing in action. Get up close to the racing fleet and get a taste of what club racing is all about. \nSailing \nThe club has its own fleet of over 70 boats. Join us for a fun sail around the harbour in one of the club boats with experienced crew to guide you.\nRowing Machines\nThe club has recently launched our “Rowhouse” which contains a number of rowing machines. There are regular training and fitness classes held in the club led by Olympian\, Niall O’Toole. Try out our rowing machines to see is this something for you. An absolutely excellent way of keeping fit. \nPrefer to stay on dry land? \nThe RSGYC has wonderful facilities ashore. We have well appointed Members and Formal Bars opening onto a deck overlooking Dublin Bay.  Our bay fronted dining room is a great room for our larger events and dinners and our library is a more intimate and atmospheric space for smaller meetings and dinners. \nSailing Gear \nIf you have your own sailing gear please bring it. If not\, we have everything you need to get out on the water safely. Bring a change of clothes and a towel to dry off if planning to go on the water. \nFood & Drink \nThe club will be serving its brunch/lunch menu from 1pm to 4pm on the day. SUMMARY:Youth Team Racing Training
DESCRIPTION:It’s that time of year again when we start to think about Team Racing for our youth sailors. We will be holding training sessions every Wednesday evening starting this Wednesday (July 17th) and we would like to encourage as many sailors (aged 14 – 19) as possible to join in. We would ask that sailors be down in the club by 5pm to get the club fireflys rigged and be ready to get out on the water by around 6pm.  \nThe idea of the training is to get as many young people as possible involved in team racing – those who have sailed on club or school teams in the past\, been involved on Oppie team racing and want to move on to the firefly\, those who did the TY team racing during the winter or those who just want to give it a go and see what its all about. We will be holding a session every Wednesday between now and the end of August\, in preparation for the Elmo Trophy. We appreciate that lots of people are/will be away on holidays or at the various sailing events but try to make it down whenever possible. There will be a small cost for the training sessions to cover the use of the boats and ribs (€10 per session).  There will be a payment form on the club website. \nThis year\, the Elmo Trophy YouthTeam Racing event will be held on September 7th/8th. Last year we had 4 RSGYC teams\, and we would be happy to have even more if the interest is there.

Having lived abroad working in the fast-paced Superyacht industry for more than ten years\, Alice returned to Dublin in 2016 and embarked upon a year long\, 250hr yoga teacher training programme at The Elbowroom. Throughout this year\, Alice discovered a deep understanding of yoga\, movement and anatomy; her most poignant discovery however\, was the positive impact yoga has on people and more significantly\, community. \nAlice believes that yoga is for everybody\, and that a little bit of self-care goes a long way. SUMMARY:Youth Team Racing Training
DESCRIPTION:It’s that time of year again when we start to think about Team Racing for our youth sailors. We will be holding training sessions every Wednesday evening starting this Wednesday (July 17th) and we would like to encourage as many sailors (aged 14 – 19) as possible to join in. We would ask that sailors be down in the club by 5pm to get the club fireflys rigged and be ready to get out on the water by around 6pm.  \nThe idea of the training is to get as many young people as possible involved in team racing – those who have sailed on club or school teams in the past\, been involved on Oppie team racing and want to move on to the firefly\, those who did the TY team racing during the winter or those who just want to give it a go and see what its all about. We will be holding a session every Wednesday between now and the end of August\, in preparation for the Elmo Trophy. We appreciate that lots of people are/will be away on holidays or at the various sailing events but try to make it down whenever possible. There will be a small cost for the training sessions to cover the use of the boats and ribs (€10 per session).  There will be a payment form on the club website. \nThis year\, the Elmo Trophy YouthTeam Racing event will be held on September 7th/8th. Last year we had 4 RSGYC teams\, and we would be happy to have even more if the interest is there.
