You may be aware that Dublin Port have placed a ‘cap’ on the number of cruise calls to the Port from 01 January 2020
Consequently, there has been an increase in the number of bookings of ‘tender’ calls to Dun Laoghaire- as listed below (subject to change):

The cruise tender pontoon berth has been relocated to the SE end of St Michael’s Pier
The cruise ships will anchor in Dublin Port anchorage Q3 (nearest to the East Pier)
Please note that all craft should keep well clear of all anchored ships
There will be up to six tenders per ship operating on the days in question and there will be considerably more traffic working in a straight line from the harbour mouth to the Carlisle Pier – in most cases from 07:00 hours to 19:00 hours and a temporary virtual fairway will be in place for the duration
Each tender will be escorted by a RIB displaying a yellow flag – the RIB will help police the fairway
In the interests of safety no sail training or racing will be allowed in this virtual fairway during tender operations
and on no account are any marks to be deployed in this fairway
If the fairway has to be crossed it should be done so at right angles (Escort RIB may assist)
It will be noted on each day how many tenders will be in operation and their working hours
Any groups who normally race inside the harbour should make a note of the dates as they will either have to race either side of the fairway or wait until the tender operation is concluded
Procedures for the alongside calls (Turnarounds and Transits) will remain unchanged
Notwithstanding anything contained in this procedure, exceptions to these rules may be made by the Harbour Master
