On behalf of the members of the Royal Thames Yacht Club it is my pleasure to invite the Royal St George Yacht Club to race in our biennial Cumberland Cup Team Race Regatta from the 15th May to 17th May 2025.
Team Racing has a long and storied tradition at the Royal Thames and the Cumberland Cup serves as our flagship international event. 2025 is a special year for the Royal Thames, being our 250th Anniversary, and this event will take on additional significance as one of our Club’s showcase events of the year.
As in previous years, the format will be2v2 team racing with spinnakers in Sonars at Queen Mary Reservoir. Historically the event has attracted some of the best Clubs from around the world and I hope you will consider joining us for a competitive and convivial week of racing in London.
While the focus of this event is most certainly on high quality racing, we still intend to host a full social schedule, including a private event at the Houses of Parliament. A complete programme will be forthcoming by the end of January. All social events are included in the entry fee of £3,500.
The RTYC has 34 bedrooms available ranging from luxury ensuite overlooking the Hyde Park to basic single rooms with shared facilities at very reasonable rates; all prices include breakfast. Room reservations can be made by emailing reservations@royalthames.com or calling 020 7235 2121. These rooms are guaranteed to sell out, however there are plenty of accommodation options near the clubhouse or near to the sailing venue. We will send out more information to entered teams in the January before the event.
