RSGYC Sailors Crowned Melges 15 Irish National Champions

 

 

Royal St. George Yacht Club sailors Sean Donnelly and Greg Arrowsmith have won the 2026 Melges 15 Irish National Championship, held on Dublin Bay and hosted by the Royal Irish Yacht Club. The championship came down to the final races, with the RSGYC crew securing victory by a single point in a highly competitive 22-boat fleet.

Consistency throughout the seven-race series proved decisive. Donnelly and Arrowsmith finished on 18 net points, edging out Tim Norwood and Luke Donagh on 19 points, with Jack Fahy and Adam Hyland completing the podium on 20 points. [afloat.ie]

RSGYC sailors featured strongly throughout the fleet. In addition to the championship-winning performance from Donnelly and Arrowsmith, Jack Fahy and Adam Hyland finished third overall, while Mike Zani and Mike Huang narrowly missed the podium in fourth place after another impressive series.

The event highlighted the continued growth and competitiveness of the Melges 15 class in Ireland, with seven races sailed and five different crews sharing race victories across the championship. [afloat.ie]
